Play Kitchen Makeover

A dear friend heard I've been on the lookout for a play kitchen to give a makeover to.

As luck would have it, she had her daughter's old solid wood kitchen waiting to be taken to the dump! My DIY dreams were coming true!

I started the project by removing the stickers and giving it a coat of spray paint primer.

This adorable mint spray paint color was on sale at Target for only $3! Score!! The inside was quickly painted with leftover white paint I had lying around.

Under the counters was a cut out square which I was concerned about because I wanted to smooth contact paper over the counter.

To "fix it", I nailed down a larger board with wood circles painted to be a stove over the contact paper.

The most time consuming part of the kitchen was the hexagon backsplash. (I am very into hexagons right now).

All in all, this kitchen has been one of my all-time favorite projects. I am in love with the end result. 😍

The wreath is just an old wreath I had cut down to size for the pictures. I took it down before they played.

Before I got the kitchen, I started crafting felt food for the kids which I'll put in a post pretty soon.

Thanks for stopping by!
