Furballs three

Once, it seems so long ago...there was a time when fur didn't cover every surface. Litter wasn't sifted through. Lap cuddles weren't had!...

Growing up, we always had pets, and I LOVED it. We had 5 cats, bearded dragons, chickens, snakes, fish, ect! Growing up and moving out was a game changer. Every place we moved to didn't allow pets!

Fast foward about 5 years, and my sister started posting pictures of the most beautiful kitten I have ever seen. My daughter and I fell in love, and my sister so kindly offered to let us adopted her. Her name was Athena and we adopted her when she was 6 months old.

Several years and a few pounds later (looking at you Athena), things were great. We moved to a farmhouse in Washington and hoped to one day get a dog.

A few weeks after we moved here, a very friendly stray cat came right up to our front door and has been here ever since. He loves the kids and follows them everywhere in the yard. He even climbs trees with them. We had him fixed and named him "big boy".

Fast forward to Thanksgiving when my brother-in-law points to our side door (that is essentially a giant window door) and says "there's a cat right there". Oh that's just big boy we say....it wasn't big boy.

There we saw a tiny orange and white kitten begging to come in out of the cold. My sister and I rushed to work. Warmed him up, gave him a bath, checked for fleas. The little guy was only 2 lbs. Just barely big enough to start eating solids.

That was that. We named him Doby due to his big pink ears. Cat number 3. He is a lively little guy. Very much a kitten. Luckily he immediately took to the litter box and let's my daughter carry him everywhere. He even sleeps in her bed.

Athena is not a cat person, but Big boy and Doby love each other. They both chase eachother and play all day. And though I love my cats, I sure could do without this hair everywhere!

Oh and a scary thought...I'm pretty sure I saw Doby's unfixed mom near a shed close to our house. 😱
